Emerging Trends in Addressing Health Disparities
It is generally accepted that there are health disparities associated with race/ethnicity, gender, geographic location, and socioeconomic status. There have been some effective interventions, but these and further gains may be negatively affected by emerging trends that benefit some groups and may harm others. We invite you to take this opportunity to submit abstracts that provide evidence-based advocacy, policy development, research, and dynamic interventions to demonstrate/discuss how the emerging healthcare trends affect African Americans.
Topics may include, but are not limited to, examination of trends in reducing health disparities such as training and education, mental/behavioral health, inter-professional collaboration and education; how to integrate teaching and research regarding the emerging trends, technology in healthcare, cost of care, and movement of healthcare to community settings.
