In response to the COVID-19 pandemic Howard University Hospital has opened a community health center in Ward 7, one of the most economically disadvantaged wards in Washington, DC.  The health center is providing free COVID-19 testing to DC residents four days a week without the requirement of symptoms.  Further, screening sites have been established at community centers, churches, and wellness centers, and drive-through testing locations are being established in Wards 5, 7 and 8.

At the request of Muriel Bowser, the Mayor of Washington, DC, Howard University Hospital has expanded its capacity for treating COVID-19 patients.
